Straightening your teeth in a discreet manner may seem impossible. After all, braces are pretty ostentatious, and very few adults will feel comfortable wearing them.
However, there’s a way to straighten your teeth so discreetly that most people won’t even notice you’re having any orthodontic work done. That method is called Invisalign®.
So what is it? And how can you tell if it’s right for you? Let’s take a few minutes to answer those questions.
What is it?
Invisalign is a way to straighten your teeth that doesn’t use the traditional wire and metal brackets you see with braces. Instead, you use clear plastic aligners custom-molded to fit your mouth.
How does it work?
Once Dr. Sheldon Sullivan takes impressions of your teeth and the lab creates the aligners, you’ll wear each aligner for two weeks. You’ll have to wear them all day – except when eating or brushing your teeth – to ensure they work properly. Every two weeks, you switch to a new pair that moves your teeth again, until you’ve gone through all the aligners and they’ve slowly moved your teeth into the right place.
